ALL FLORAL DISPLAYS WILL BE IN THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING.  THANK YOU SENECA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS!

GENERAL RULES
1.       Entries open to any arranger or grower.
2.       Entries open July 10 to July 15, 2017.
3.       Exhibitors are limited to one entry in each of the Artistic Arrangement classes.  Other classes, one entry for each variety named on the entry tags. Other classes, one entry for each variety named on the entry tag is permissible.
4.       The superintendent has the right to combine or subdivide classes.
5.       All entries for Monday, July 24, 2017 are to be in place by NOON.  Entries will be released for removal and clean-up at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26.
6.       Entries for the second show need to be in place by NOON on Thursday, July 27.  Entries will be released for removal and clean-up at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30.
7.       Entries not in place by NOON will be disqualified.
8.       Judging will be the Standard System and begin promptly at 12:30 PM on Monday and Thursday in the same order as listed.  Exhibitors will be allowed in the area ONLY to hear comments made by the judge after each class.
9.       Exhibitors entered in the wrong class will be disqualified.
10.    Artificial or silk flowers are NOT allowed in the arrangements (unless specified).
11.    THE CORRECT VARIETY NAME MUST BE ON THE ENTRY TAG OF EACH EXHIBIT.  A 3″x5″ card MUST be used for labeling ALL ARTISTIC AND FLOOR ARRANGEMENTS.
12.    Each house plant must be shown in the pot in which it was grown and have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least 3 months.  The variety name should be listed if possible.
13.    Exhibition flowers MUST have been grown by the exhibitor.  They are to be shown (displayed) in vases provided by Seneca County Agricultural Society and returned to the Floral Superintendent.
14.    SINGLE BLOOMS MUST HAVE BEEN DISBUDDED.  FOLIAGE, IF PRESENT ON THE STEM, SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED.  Wedges or foliage may be used to steady glads. EXHIBITORS will be responsible for keeping all arrangements and entries fresh.

5.    Premiums will be paid as stated under each class.   Best of Show rosettes will be awarded in the following classes:  Artistic, Floor and Dried Arrangements, House Plants, Gladiolus, Herbs, Roses and Exhibition Flowers.
16.    If you wish your sticker can be exchanged for a ribbon at the fair office after clean up.

 Daily parking permits available for $3.00 at the gate.

CLASS 18  – Youth Classes
This class is designed to feature items for the 4-H gardening prjects.  The items displayed can be the youth’s interpretation of their project.  The displays can be arrangements or other displays of the projects.
All guidelines for previous classes apply.  One show only.  All entries must stay on display until Sunday, July 30 at 6:00 p.m.

Rosette – Best of Show

1.  Look What I Found – a display that features the best items from your garden

5.  Plant Design – use your vegetables and plants to make a creature (props allowed)

CLASS 19 – STANDING SCARECROW CONTEST
To be displayed Sunday, July 23 through Sunday, July 30 at 6:00 p.m.
Premium:  1st-$10.00;2nd-$8.00;3rd-$6.00;4th-$4.00; 5th-$2.00
Rosette – Best of Show
NOTE:  All exhibits must be friendly in nature and consist of mostly natural materials.  Exhibit must be at least 5 foot tall and be able to be displayed independently.
Props may be used.
